My darkest image yet. I have combined two shots here, the cross is from the Abbey on Holy Island and the background was taken in the dunes at Budle Bay, Northumberland. I was inspired by the Viking invasion of Holy Island and the later conversion of Pagans to christianity, a bend to the will of the most powerful.
